Nevada State Legislature 77th Session

The 77th Nevada Legislature convened on February 4, 2013. All of our elected State Assemblyman and Senators were sworn in and Richard was proud to be among them. Richard is also ready to get down to doing the hard work of the state and will be concentrating on the priorities at hand, including education, economic development and state revenue.

National Night Out 2012

The National Night Out event at Town Square in Las Vegas was where Richard spent the first part of his night out! At his first stop of the evening he was found hanging out with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, Nevada Highway Patrol, Las Vegas Fire Department, Clark County School District Police Department, Las Vegas City Councilwoman Lois Tarkanian and community organizations. Richard continues to be committed to the community and had a wonderful time talking to law enforcement and the public.

Easter Egg HUNT!!!!! Nevada Ranch

Easter Egg Hunt at Nevada Ranch was so much fun!!!!!! Although the line for balloon animals was a little too long, I had a great time talking to residents of the area and hearing about their concerns.

South Valley Ranch Community Picnic

Spent a very windy Sunday at the South Valley Ranch Community Picnic getting to know some great people who will be in one of the new portions of Assembly District 18 in November. The residents of this community were very welcoming and working hard to get volunteers for their Neighborhood Watch. Henderson City Councilwoman Gerri Shroeder was there as well and we had a great talk with Henderson Police Officers about concerns in the area. Community safety is a number one priority for these residents and I was happy to see such involvement from so many!

Seniors United

Richard is committed to making the community and state a better place for all. On 1/11/2012, Richard spoke to Seniors United and shared information on several bills that were passed into law during the last legislative session. This also gave him the opportunity to talk to senior citizens one on one and learn what their current concerns are. Richard would like to extend his to Seniors United for inviting him!

Whitney Elementary School Christmas Celebration

Whitney Elementary School invited Santa Claus, Richard Carrillo and other community leaders to come and participate in making sure the students received Christmas gifts this year. Whitney Elementary School has received national media attention due to the high number of homeless students enrolled there as well as the hard work the Principal, Sherri Gahn, and her staff have done to make sure the students at Whitney E.S. have all that they need in order to stay in school.

Nevada Ranch Holiday Celebration 2011

Richard has been an active part of the community for many years and takes every opportunity he can to meet constituents and find out what they are really concerned about. Community parties like the one he attended on December 10, 2011 are just one way he reaches out to the constituents of his district.

Career Day at J.M. Ullom Elementary School

Assemblyman Carrillo was asked back to J.M. Ullom Elementary School to talk about BOTH of his careers on December 7, 2011. And this time, he learned a little something too! Richard was impressed with the kinds of technology now employed in classrooms in the District, such as "Smart Boards". As always, he appreciates the opportunity to reach out to future voters and to remind them that education is important.

JM Ullom Elementary School Career Day

Richard spent part of his Friday speaking to four classes of students at JM Ullom Elementary School about BOTH of his careers, Air Conditioning Technician and State Assemblyman for District 18. The kids had great questions and Richard truly enjoyed a great day!
