Whitney Neighborhood Cleanup

10 am - 2 pm Come join your friends and neighbors to help keep our community clean and inviting to residents and visitors. Once again Mary Beth Scow, Metro, Clark County, American Graffiti and the STOP Coalition are coming together to sponsor a community cleanup. Rakes, shovels, gloves, trash bags, paint and rollers will be provided! Only your presence is necessary!

Whitney Town Board VACANCY NOTICE

Clark County is currently taking applications to fill a vacancy on the Whitney Town Advisory Board Appointment to the Town Advisory Board (TAB) is for the remainder of the current term ending December 2014. The TAB holds public meetings at least once per month at 5712 Missouri Ave. Applicants must be eligible to vote, and live within the town boundaries. Functions of the TAB include:

The last day to register online for the 2012 Election cycle is October 6, 2012. Applicants Sought for Town Advisory Boards, Citizens Advisory Councils

Clark County is looking for interested residents of unincorporated towns to serve on their local advisory boards for the next two years. The County is currently accepting applications for Town Advisory Boards (TABs) in Bunkerville, Searchlight, Enterprise, Indian Springs, Laughlin, Mt. Charleston, Paradise, Spring Valley, Sunrise Manor, Moapa, Moapa Valley, Whitney and Winchester; and Citizens Advisory Councils (CACs) in Goodsprings, Lone Mountain, Lower Kyle Canyon, Mountain Springs, Red Rock and Sandy Valley.

12th Annual Light of Hope Ceremony

Locatede in Courtroom 9 at Family Court. The Light of Hope Ceremony focuses on National CASA's (Court Appointed Special Advocates) "I Am For The Child" campaign, where key community individuals will share their "I Am" statements. Raises awareness about the needs of the children in the foster care system, share messages of hope and highlight various ways that people can get involved to make a difference in an abused and neglected child's life by becoming a CASA volunteer, a foster/adoptive parent, mentor, and/or by donating to programs that support our most vunerable children.

Pinwheels for Prevention at Tivoli Village

8AM - 2PM: Prevent Child Abuse Nevada will be holding an event at Tivoli Village open to families, children, and community members. This event features a Resource Fair with 30 different agencies serving families in Nevada, interactive activities and games for children, live music, and performances from the community. The "Choose Your Partner Carefully Campaign" will also be intorduced at this event focusing on the importance of choosing partners that are qualified caregivers who your children will be safe with.
